THE man with the beard
Once upon a time, there was a man with a beard.
He kept it in good care, as it was much revered.
He combed it, and brushed it, and smoothed it with oil,
for an unkempt beard results in recoil.
One day his oil ran dangerously low
and perusing suppliers was going so slow.
His alchemist wife assured him she could make more.
but he was concerned she had proper oils in store.
She collected her bottles of every shape and kind
for though he was doubtful she had made up her mind.
She opened each bottle to give him a whiff.
And he voiced his assessment after each sniff.
“This one’s too strong and this one too weak.”
Blending, the oil morphed with each tweak.
In no time at all she finished the scent
that would dapper his beard for any event.
Now the man has his own custom beard blend
infused with love and with no need to spend.
The man and his wife live happily ever after,
and he was so grateful he married a crafter.
